Try something new with a Poly craft workshop
The Poly is hosting four craft workshops on Saturday 1st October 2022, each with a morning and afternoon session so you can try two if you like!
Price: All £25 per session (which includes £1 Poly Fund, all materials and equipment)
Times available: 10.30-12.30 or 13.00-15.00, 10 places per session (6 for rubber stamp making)

Workshop 1 - Intro to Crochet: Making a Granny Square with Cathy Van Hear
An intro to crochet workshop, suitable for beginners, where we will be making a crochet classic, the granny square. Students will learn how to do a range of stitches in order to make their own square during the session. We will also cover the basics of understanding crochet stitch charts and pattern terminology.
Workshop 2 - Silk Paper Making with Sarah Edom
Learn the art of silk paper making, where the fibres are intertwined between mesh and the natural gum pasts them together creating beautiful and delicate effects. Other items such as wildflowers can be added between the layers to create a variety of bespoke papers that can be used for craft projects, scrapbooking, card making and embroidery.
Workshop 3: Lino Cut Rubber Stamp Making with Jill Dunn
Come and try your hand at Linocut rubber-stamp making, using traditional relief printmaking techniques to make your own stamp for printing on cards, wrap, fabric etc.
Workshop 4: Introduction to Hand Built Pottery with Karl Owen
Have a go at making pinch pots, learn about coil and slab construction, and slip decoration techniques, making a selection of pottery items ready for for firing.
