Young Creatives Art Trail
During the festival the work of pupils from five Falmouth primary schools will be showcased in shop windows throughout the town.
Over 200 children in Year 5 or 6 from the five Falmouth primary schools - King Charles C of E School; St Mary’s Catholic Primary School; Falmouth Primary Academy; Marlborough School; and St Francis C of E Primary School - will be painting, sketching, printing and creating during July 2024 in workshops held by Cornish professional artists and craftspeople.
The artists involved in this initiative create work that varies widely which will result in a fascinating trail of different styles and mediums interpreted by the children taking part. These artworks will be exhibited in shop windows in Falmouth town centre from Tuesday 17th September to Sunday 22nd September.

Falmouth Primary x Lucy Joines - Ceramicist
Lucy first learnt to throw in Japan when she was awarded a scholarship during her BA Hons Degree in Ceramics at Falmouth College of Arts.
After 16 years as an Art & Ceramics teacher she now focuses on exploring ceramics further and continuing a passion to express the magic of nature.
King Charles x Laura Menzies - Contemporary Painter
Laura trained at Birmingham University, graduating with a BA in Performing & Visual Arts before gaining an MA in Fine Art from Falmouth University.
She has exhibited extensively in the UK and internationally with her lyrical, abstract paintings. See Laura at the Form Art Fair.
St Francis x Kitty Hillier - Multidisciplinary Artist
Penryn-based artist Kitty studied at Falmouth School of Art and gained a 1st class honours degree in Fine Art Painting at Bath School of Art.
Kitty’s work is rooted in her belief that all things are connected. Seeking this out both above and below the surface of what she sees in nature — biomorphic forms are distilled, overlapped and reconstructed through various means. The results are effortlessly playful images and sculptures that reference these observations.
Marlborough x Clementine Neild - Printmaker & Illustrator
Clementine is a printmaker from Cornwall who explores a fascination with the daydreamed stories and worlds we create when reaching for lost events or loved ones. Her work captures moments in time that pertain to stories, legends and memories and utilises places and objects that hold particular importance to her. Clementine aims to create images that connect her to her audience through shared human experience. Clementine graduated with distinction in MA Authorial Practice: Illustration from Falmouth University in 2019.
St Mary’s x Dena O’Brien - Printmaker
After studying a Masters degree in Printmaking at the Royal college of Art in London, and several years teaching print in local colleges, Dena founded Kiwi Print Studio in 2012 running courses and workshops.
Her printworks are bright and vibrant reflecting her Cornish heritage and love of the outdoors.
